Permanent Residency
After almost 10 months of waiting with utmost patience (July 2007 - May 2008) [Phew!] I finally got hold of my Australian Permanent Residency status. I realised it quicked then my agent which to me seems pretty weird coz as far as I know, agents should be getting first hand knowledge. But I don't blame them, the system is all online now and I have the ability to just login and take a quick look. It was at 3am before I saw it actually. :-) I booked my flight out on the 8th of June 2008 so yeahs hopefully I have enough time to make the registration to meet the 1st July dateline. Anniversary seems just so common nowadays for us GLBT society, the world of women who love women, 1 month in a r/s is equilevent to 3 mths of a heterosexual relationship. So in other words technically I have been in relationship for about 3 years now come the month of July 2008, wow! that is long! Never knew I was that kind of person to step into a very long distance relationship. Anyway
Malaysia's National Service
Stumbled upon it while was reading some Subang Jaya alert blogs. Decided a quick wiki on it. National Service Wiki Out of everything that I have read, this one caught my by surprised and I think its worth reading:- " Character Building Module (Pembinaan Karakter) - Classroom based. It comprise 2 modules. The first one, Module A speaks about Bringing Out The Best In Me while the second module, Module B, relates to Bringing Out The Best In Others. This component is experential based and relies on games and activities as the means of teaching. It is about instilling good values and Self-confidence, leadership and self-evaluation. According to participants, the Character Building classes are monotonous and they are taught how to juggle balls. Parents have speculated that there is no correlation between character and ball juggling."

Myanmar Hit by Cyclone & Refuse Help
A cyclone hit Myanmar - also known as Burma - on Saturday and has killed more than 20,000 people in the deadliest natural disaster the country has faced in recorded history. International aid agencies began distributing food in Myanmar's commercial capital today but there is uncertainty whether the assistance will reach people stranded in the remoter reaches of the country. A growing list of countries have pledged aid and assistance but there appeared to be disagreement as to how to handle Myanmar's authoritarian government, which is suspicious of international interference. "If it were a different situation we would be mobilizing some helicopters now," said Tony Banbury, the regional director of the United Nations World Food Program.
